An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Officer within the Civil Aerospace Customer Regional Team, based in the Singapore Customer Service Centre (“CSC”). This role is part of the General Counsel function and reports directly to the Vice President Commercial – Asia Pacific & Greater China .
What you will be doing:
As a Commercial Officer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding and driving profitable growth by managing commercial negotiations, risk, and customer relationships across the Asia Pacific and Greater China regions.
Key accountabilities include:
- Pursue opportunities to maximize profit and cash for the company by managing or supporting pricing and business cases.
- Instruct and administer new business agreements to fully secure opportunities.
- Negotiate the resolution of claims, disputes, and litigation to minimize cost and risk, while managing market perception.
- Manage customer restructuring, rehabilitations, and insolvencies through to conclusion, ensuring the best possible business outcomes.
- Lead internal approval sessions to provide timely responses to customers.
- Identify risks and liabilities inherent in contracts and negotiate to mitigate or minimize them, balancing legal and commercial considerations.
- Collaborate with specialist departments to seek and apply expert advice and guidance.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and contracting standards.
- Deliver and support continuous improvement and best commercial practice activities within the business and the General Counsel function.
- Maintain frequent, precise, and clear communications internally on all issues being managed.
Position requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems while maintaining customer focus.
- Highly motivated and capable of working independently with sound commercial judgement and business acumen.
- Proficient in administration and contract management.
- Skilled in prioritizing workloads to meet demanding deadlines.
- Experience influencing stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
